VerreTaal - Chinese literature in Dutch translation


: VerreTaal: an online database of Dutch translations of Chinese literature.

This project is a collaboration of the Centre of Languages and Cultures of China Library of Leiden University and the Research Centre for Translation at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Using an English interface, it offers research material for translation sciences, (comparative) literature, (inter)cultural studies and regional studies, Sinology, and other fields of science. It is also available for library users and the general reader.

: The database contains Dutch translations -both direct translations and from interlanguages- of originally Chinese works. At the present, it includes poetry publications, fiction, non-fiction, and drama. Where possible, headwords from anthologies with several authors will be accompanied by authors' names, story titles, and page numbers. In the near future, we hope to expand the database with journal publications.
