The Library Learning Centre (LLC) is a brand new library; it is one of the six locations of Leiden University Libraries . There are fourteen computer workstations and comfortable couches for reading and study. During the opening hours of the building (Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 10 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM) visitors may use these facilities; during opening hours it is possible to pick up books from the lockers of the self service system as well as to return books.
In the LLC a limited collection is available of reference works and essential reading materials on all subjects studied at the Campus The Hague, such as public administration, international law, politics, history and philosophy. The collection may be consulted between 10 AM and 5 PM. During these hours library staff will be available to provide assistance.
Using the online catalogue academic book materials can be ordered from Leiden University Libraries 24/7. Materials ordered before 4 PM may be retrieved from the lockers at The Hague the next weekday from 1 PM. This is true only for materials from the University Library, the Law Library and the Social Sciences Library at Leiden.
The self service system at LLC is the same as the one used in the University Library at Leiden. The LLC has 250 lockers from which books can be collected. Hold your LU-Card in front of the scanner and your locker, containing the books you ordered online, will open. Simultaneously, the loan is automatically registered in your name.
Of course it is also possible for staff and students from Campus The Hague to make full use of the collections and services of the University Libraries at Leiden using their LU-Card. Also you can access the extensive digital collections of the library. Via the catalogue you can use 40.000 e-journals, 1.000.000 e-books and 500 databases. With your ULCN account you can use this material from anywhere in the world.
The website of Leiden University Libraries offers ample information on services, collections and facilities available at the different library locations, as well as access to the Catalogue.
