- The computers in Leiden University Library will be replaced and fitted with a new layout with a new user interface. Students of Humanities and Law have tested these to help create an optimum workplace for students. From 4 August, the computers in the Tielehal will be replaced, not the screens. This will be done table by table, so that there will always be workplaces left during replacement works.
A few examples of the many improvements:
-
- The new terminal is considerably faster
- It is possible to create PDF-files using Adobe PDF Generator
- You can print straight from your memory stick on the new printers (only PDF-files, not Word documents)
- Documents are saved in the My documents folder on the P: drive
- Fonts like Arab, Chinese and Korean can be printed
