Google Scholar

Google Scholar searches websites and databases of publishers and research institutes that the 'regular' Google often cannot access.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar finds:
  • Full text books and articles.
  • References to publications that are not available online.
  • Citations and other links between publications.
Access via Leiden University's licences
Not all publications you may find via Google Scholar are free to access on the internet, a substantial number are only available for licenced users. Students and staff of Leiden University can access these articles by means of Leiden University's licences by using SFX.
How does it work?
To make use of Leiden's SFX Services change your preferences in Google Scholar to Leiden. Subsequently many hits will show a SFX button, which you can click to access the full text resource (if available) with your ULCN account. If full text is not available, you can use the SFX menu to access the Catalogue to see if a printed copy is available.
If you are working on a PC within the university network the SFX button automatically appears without changing your preferences.
