Brill fellows 2009

On 9 March 2009, the board of the Brill Fellowship, constisting of Prof. Dr Arjo Vanderjagt, prof. Dr Harm Beukers, Chantal Keijspers, MA, en Kasper van Ommen, MA, assembled to discuss the requests for the Brill Fellowship 2009. From the applications the commission selected the two following candidates:

Prof. dr. Gilbert Maurice Tournoy (University of Leuven, Belgium) who will be conducting research on Livy in the work of the Dutch Humanists. Prof. Tournoy is director of the Seminarium Philologiae Humanisticae.

Malay Letters as Legacies of the Local Kingdoms on the Island of Sumbawa, Indonesia is the research topic of S. Suryadi, MA. Mister Suryadi is a part-time teacher at the Leiden Institute for Area Studies, SAS Indonesie of Leiden University.
