- On Thursday 7 June 2007, Prof. Dr Paul Hoftijzer will leave his function as Director of the Scaliger Institute. He will be succeeded by Prof. Dr Marika Keblusek.
- On Keblusek
- After studying Dutch Language and Culture in Leiden in 1997, Keblusek (1965) obtained her doctorate with a dissertation on the booktrade in The Hague in the seventeenth century. Initially Dr Bert van Selm acted as her supervisor. After his death, the supervision was continued by Prof. Dr Paul Hoftijzer. After receiving her doctorate, Keblusek held several postdoc positions in Leiden, the last of which was the Vidi project 'Double Agents' that she applied for. She also set up two exhibitions for the Historical Museum of The Hague. In 2003, she was appointed Professor Extraordinary in the history of publishing and booktrade at Amsterdam University by de P.A. Tiele Foundation. Besides this function she also holds a further position at the Art History department of the Leiden Faculty of Humanities, where she is involved in research on collections in general, and the Leiden University and University Library collections in particular. This last function enables her to act as an intermediary between education and research relating to the Leiden University Library Special Collections.
