- Leiden University Library has developed a new digital service to keep you informed of masterpieces and acquisitions in our special collections on a regular basis. These masterpieces and acquisitions will be presented in Digital Special Collections with an appealing scan, a short description and links to further details on background and the collection it belongs to. Initially, the short descriptions are only available in Dutch, but further details and the collection description are often available in English by clicking the link under the image of the digital object. The following masterpieces have become available recently:

- De koning van Cochin op een elephant geseeten verselschapt met sijn edelen die men Nairos noemt (The King of Cochin seated on an elephant, accompanied by his noblemen who are known as Nairos)
- De versierde openingspagina’s van de Koran, beginnend met de Fatiha (ornated opening pages of the Koran, starting with the Fatiha)
- Maria van Bourgondië en Keizer Maximiliaan I (Mary of Burgundy and Emperor Maximilian I)
