UPDATE JULY 25th, 2014 : The KITLV collections can be found in the UBL Catalogue from Monday July 28, 2014, around noon. On that day it is not possible to request KITLV materials due to the transfer from the KITLV catalogue (OPC).
The Oriental collections of the Leiden University Libraries preserve a small number of ancient Quran fragments. Thanks to radiocarbon dating we now know that the oldest fragments are from the second half of the seventh century CE, some 30 to 70 years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad.
Over summer we apply adapted opening hours. Check the temporary changes for your library here.
